Councillors have been informed by the waste management service that waste collections in Marr continue to be affected by poor road conditions and vehicle breakdown. Aberdeenshire Council sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this is causing our communities. We are working with our colleagues in the Roads service to try and get those rural routes gritted so that we can put extra resource out.

Customers are being updated with information and advice via social media (Recycling and Waste Aberdeenshire) and the myaberdeenshire app. We are encouraging customers to use these information sources rather than report missed collections to the service.

Our waste service has provided the following information:

“I have provided the route numbers because they show when customers use the bin day finder on the Council’s website.

All going well we will hopefully be able to borrow a lorry from Stonehaven next week to complete routes.   Keep your fingers and everything else crossed!   

• BC22 COM 00  – We were unable to complete the route at Glen Buchat.  We hope to get a lorry out to complete tomorrow (14/1).  

• BC 13 REF 00 and BC 23 COM 00. Scheduled to be completed today 13/01/2021 – Rough Park Strathdon, Corgarff, Forbestown, Bellabeg, Newe.

• BC 14 REF 00 – I apologise that we have been unable to collect refuse from this route since mid-December.  This route has been a particular challenge.  It is recycling day tomorrow so the plan is to have 2 lorries on this round, once emptying refuse bins and taking side waste and the other taking the recycling –  Alford Rural, Kildrummy, Parts of Glenkindie rural and Mossat.

• BC 25 REF 05 –  Apologies that we have been unable to attend to this route since being missed two weeks ago.  All refuse including side waste will be collected on the next scheduled refuse day which is Friday the 15^th of January – All rural areas – Hirnley to the Pole and via Whitehouse farm Lumphanan Kirkton Cottages AB34 5BQ, Auchenhove , Kintocher, Boggentassie, Coull, Douneside, Davochs, Melgum, roadside of Lumphanan.

• BC 11 REF 00  – We can only complete Blackhall today I’m afraid.  The remainder will be scheduled into next week but as yet I can’t say a day.  Update will go out on Facebook and myaberdeenshire app.  Strachan, Torphins, Drumoak village, Inchmarlo, Banchory, Midmar, Glendye, Dunecht, Crathes,  Auchattie, Durris and Woodlands of Durris.

• BC 11 REF 02 – Hoping to complete today – Drumoak Rural.

• BC 12 REF 00 – Lorry out attempting to complete this route today –  Ballater rural round Glen Muick and Balmoral, Portarch, Birse, Ballogie, Logie Coldstone, Tarland rural, Kincardine O’Neil rural,  Aboyne rural, narrow access addresses in Aboyne, Crathie, Potarch.  

• BC 13 REF 03 – Unable to complete route from 2 weeks ago.  Will attempt to collect on Friday (15/01)  – Standing Stones, Quitlehead, Mill of Cammie, Bogendriep,and the Forrest of Birse.

• BC 14 REF 01 – Unable to complete the route last week.  Will attempt to collect on Friday (15/1) –  Endovie Area Alford, Balfluig, Kingsford Alford, Wellhouse Alford, Archballoch Alford, Cairnballoch Alford, Lady Forbes Road Alford

• BC 14 REF 02 – Route complete   

• BC 21 COM 00 – Unable to complete due to persistent ice.  Will try our very best to go in tomorrow but if not we will schedule into our missed collections next week and put out a public update – Monecht Cottages, Kinnernie, Most of Duecht Estate, Garlogie Cottages, Part of Woodlands of Durris, Cairnton Estate, Grampian Terrace Torphins, Blackhall, Scolty Hill, Auchattie Lane, Glen Dye Estate office, Glendye Lodge”
